Cassie Durick Poetry.

I am white or am I?
I am a white, American girl.
When there is different races around the world.
People tend to judge in society.
When they find out their variety.

I come from four different nationalities.
Two come from my mommy's and two from my daddy's.
People say I look like both of my parents.
Especially the way I show my appearance.

In Ethnic Relations, we learned about race.
Along with how people discriminate.
It's not all about the skin color.
It's how idividuals treat one another.

Race has grown into a whole new level.
Because people put themself on a pedestal.
People feel race is biologically spread.
But others think it's how one is raised in the end.

Race isn't too important to me.
I feel it is all about the family tree.
I think "race" is a term for different.
Because name calling is more persistent.

Back in the day there was a thing called lynching.
Which consisted of mercyful killing.
All because of race back in the day.
Some people were left to die and lay.

This world will never be able to get beyond the concept of race.
Since everything in this world will never relate.
